I was in grammar school when this song came out. I want to say at least fifth or sixth grade. My friends and I got a kick out of saying, "Ah meeny meeny meeny, say what?" Hey, we were kids, but this song is just one of those joints you can listen to and have fun with friends.
I must say, having female MC's on this track like Monie Love and Queen Latifah is nostalgic as hell. No shade to Miss Minaj, but back then, female hip-hop artists were really good. They had something to say, no gimmicks, and they didn't have to "over sexualize" themselves either.
It Must Be Magic is the euphoric feeling I got the first time I listened to the Teena Marie album of the same title. I hope anyone who reads my blog will share with me in that feeling.
