Is this Mic On???
I did not think this medium was still available.
I feel like I am going back in time with this post, but here it goes.
A lot has happened in the world since I last posted on here. We have had a whole pandemic where millions of people died and everyone stayed inside.
People actually voted for that pedophile Donald Trump multiple times, and he is currently occupying the White House (or what's left of it) although technically, he did not win the election, he stole it.
The Bulls are washed. The Bears have a great quarterback, even though they may no longer have a stadium. The White Sox are sitting atop the AL Central after losing a record 100 games last season, and Chicago has become a tourist spot.
Even I wouldn't believe some of the things that have happened over the past few years. I still love Duke basketball, although they failed to make it to the Final Four this past year. I still love BTS and will be seeing them in concert in August. I am still a k-drama addict and haven't actively sat down to watch American television regularly in over 10 years. I still work in legal although that could be changing pretty soon.
I laid my beloved grandmother to rest a month ago at 100 years old. I had to support a friend who laid her brother to rest. In fact, so many people have transitioned. People I never thought I would have already had to say goodbye to at this point in time. I am taking care of my mother in different ways, and I didn't think that would come as soon as it has.
R. Kelly is in jail. Diddy is in jail. Epstein is dead (allegedly) and Clive Davis just passed. Obama just opened his presidential library and museum in Jackson Park, and we are tentatively still at war with Iran for no reason other than the West is determined to be an imperial colonial power until the end of time.
I have the itch to travel right now, even if I don't really have the funds. I was looking at airbnb prices in Vegas. We did that last year, and it's really the only way to travel to Vegas now. The hotels are overpriced. Even the ones that try and trick you with the, you can stay here for $59 a night, that is only Monday-Thursday, and the resort fees are pushing almost $100 a night. So, staying at an airbnb is truly the way to go, and just hit the strip for specific things. We went and saw Drag Race when we came last year, and that was at The Flamingo. Afterwards, mother and T hit the slots at the casino. It was cool, but that casino wasn't it. Next time, I will have us go to The Venetian and a few other spots that are just better. I could use that heat right about now. It is freezing in my office.
Now, I am looking forward to the 4th of July, not for the holiday itself, but just to get some time off work and relaxation with family. Does anyone else have holiday plans? I am thinking of preparing a banana pudding or making some dairy free ice cream, I'll see how I feel.
